Why Pursue a Career that Everyone Aspires To Pursue?

I was told in the beginning of my career..."Acting Is a Pipe Dream", "Your never gonna make it".!!! I was also told if I do make it, I will be super old, and then it will be too late. (The Entertainment Business) A Goal is a desire & passion some of us all have, and for those who pursue it are true Warriors of their Craft. Any business we choose to work in, and aspire to be the best in is always going to be a challenge. We CAN'T give up or GIVE in. So to all those who aspire to be successful in the Entertainment Business - I say Keep Pushing, Persevere, be Diligent, and Proactive, as well as Productive, and watch what GOD does. As he's done for me. Please post your questions, and I will give it to you through my P-O-V. (point of view) Actor Resources for Dummy's Act Out!!

  2. Honestly...It's a challenge getting an Agents attention. We literally have to knock the door down. Based on my experience I had to keep Sending Emails, and following up, and going to open house, and convince an Agent why they should sign or work with/for you. I'm working on getting a Manager to help me do more of the leg work & begging so to speak. I was fortunate to get signed with J Pervis Talent Agency - Extra Division, in which I was booked on the Rickey Smiley Show. I had a blast, and learned from the experience. About 2 months later the agency closed that division. It affected me because it was suppose to be a stepping stone in my career, and later be considered, and cast as a featured or principal role within J Pervis Agency. So the bottom line is keep pushing, asking, submitting, promoting, and representing yourself until an agent signs you, or sees you as potential talent to sign. Also check your city for Casting Agents, and Film Commissions. Check out https://www.facebook.com/ReelFilmExpo - Smithville Texas seems to be the closet city in which some Filming Action goes on...Network,Search the Web, and Speak up, and trust me it will open doors you didn't think you can open.

One more thing: Don't Ever GIVE UP OR GIVE IN.
You can still find work without an agent in the beginning. Start of with extra work, and build your resume. Thank you for the question....Keep them coming, and I hope I was helpful from my P.O.V.

GOD BLESS you Servando Lerma :)
